Sky & Bone presents Beading Workshops with Jenna Bjornson

Details
Join us for a hands-on beading workshop with Métis artist Jenna Bjornson, an artist grounded in storytelling and community. In this welcoming, beginner-friendly session, participants will create a 5-panel beaded flower pin backed with deer hide. All materials are provided.
Jenna is Red River Métis with family ties to Fort Carlton, Saskatchewan. Jenna is a descendant of John Peter Pruden, a Chief Factor of the Hudson’s Bay Company. Her beadwork focuses on traditional Métis designs with contemporary Indigenous designs, and on advocacy and awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Residential School Survivors.
Jenna works to ensure that Indigenous culture, practices, and stories are authentically told and presented. She has participated in many events such as the Native Child and Family Services Powwow and the Native Canadian Centre Holiday Market. She’s currently the Operations Manager at the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival.
