r.hythmik invites: Alx Hale
Details
Back by popular demand... the r.hythmik residents return to Rhythm for a night of dialed back grooves and weighty bass to keep those feet moving. This time, they’ll be joined by die-hard rominimal head Alx Hale, so get ready for tunes so deep they put the ‘b’ in subtle.
Alx is a Toronto-based DJ and producer with Romanian roots, exploring minimal and rominimal through groove, tension, and hypnotic flow. Built around long blends and subtle movement, their approach focuses on allowing rhythms to evolve naturally — balancing deep atmosphere, textured soundscapes, and steady energy without forcing moments.
Rather than chasing extremes, Alx leans into character-driven selections and immersive storytelling, crafting sets that sit between intimate depth and driving movement. Weird sonic details, rolling grooves, and patient transitions remain at the center of their sound, with each track chosen for how it shapes the journey as a whole.
Alongside their DJ work, Alx runs Subliminal and its Room0 transmissions — a platform centered around atmosphere, connection, and the deeper emotional side of club music, where patience and flow take priority over immediacy.
Born in Manchester, r.hythmik founder Greg Burke's sets contain unrelenting, syncopated grooves, ranging from Rominimal, to UK tech house, and everywhere in between.
Hair Gel is a devout vinyl digger, delving into hypnotic rhythms and emotive melodies. Drawing from minimal house, techno, and 90s breaks, Hair Gel's sets merge the energy of the dance floor with subtle ear candy, creating a silky sonic journey.
Fauren has been developing his own sound over the past decade. His music, inspired by the raw energy of ‘90s New York hip-hop and the clear style of early experimental pioneers from cities like Detroit, Ukraine, Berlin, and Bucharest.
Thomas James is a Toronto-based DJ, who strives to connect the dots between House, UKG, Techno and Minimal. You can expect his sets to contain all the elements the genres have in common: Swinging grooves, deep atmospheres, and heavy, heavy bass.
