This performance will spotlight the thunderous and raw power of the taiko, played with unbounded energy, discipline and passion that Nagata Shachu has become renowned for. The finale piece will be a monumental and physical piece using the largest taiko drums.

Oto no Nami 音の波 (Sound Waves) will feature Nagata Shachu’s timeless signature works in addition to several new compositions. Oto no Nami will take listeners on a journey from ancient Japan to the present day through rapturous rhythms, earth shaking beats, and soulful melodies of bamboo flutes and the three-stringed shamisen.
