Leonkoro Quartet

Details
Since its formation in Berlin in 2019, the quartet has garnered more awards and honors than any other ensemble of its generation.
With Jonathan and Lukas Schwartz on first violin and cello, and Amellie Wallner and Mayu Konoe on second violin and viola, the quartet’s name is derived from the Esperanto words “Leon” and “koro,” together meaning “Lionheart.”
The quartet has earned a reputation not only for its technical brilliance and bold artistic risk-taking, but also for its deep sensitivity to the unique sonority and emotional landscape of each work it performs. Enjoy their program of Joseph Haydn: String Quartet in D Major, Op. 20, No. 4, Henriëtte Bosmans: String Quartet (1927) and Franz Schubert: String Quartet in D minor, D. 810 "Death and the Maiden".
